According to a lawyer, Bitcoin SV proponent Craig Wright, the defendant in a Bitcoin theft case, has failed to disclose his Bitcoin holdings as of December 12, 2013, to the court. Devin Freedman of the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner made a statement in a tweet on June 21, CoinDesk reports.
As Chepicap reported, Craig Wright was ordered to produce a list of his public Bitcoin address as of December 31, 2013, by a US court. Freedman has stated that since Wright has failed to comply, “he remains under an order to show cause why [Jude Florina] Reinhart shouldn’t issue sanctions” and order him to appear before Judge Beth Bloom “to explain why he shouldn’t be held in contempt.”

This is just the latest development in an ongoing court case against Wright who has been accused of taking unlawful ownership of Bitcoin mined together with Wright’s late business partner, David Kleiman. The case was brought against Wright in February 2018 by Kleiman’s estate, alleging that Wright stole Bitcoin worth over $5 billion following Kleiman’s death.
Chepicap reported earlier this month that a Florida court ruled Wright had committed perjury as his defense contradicts an affidavit he previously submitted with an Australian court. As a result, he was facing up to five years in prison as well as numerous fines.
