QCP’s October 23, 2026, Market Colour report says Bitcoin and tech stocks are under fresh pressure as investors reassess the cost of financing AI infrastructure.

According to the report, CoreWeave, which rents powerful GPU clusters to AI developers and businesses, has seen its bond yields climb to around 15%, up from 9.675% when it issued some bonds in June. The increase comes amid rising European yields and escalating Middle East tensions, adding to market uncertainty.

CoreWeave’s stock slid about 10% on October 22, and the company reportedly has roughly $50 billion in debt, making it a big test of investor confidence in financing AI infrastructure.

Tesla deepened worries about AI profitability by cutting its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to $20 billion from over $25 billion. While that lower spending helps near-term cash flow, investors question if it could slow down Tesla’s AI and robotics plans.

European Bond Markets Signal Rising Fiscal Risk

Meanwhile, pressure is also appearing in European government debt.

On October 22, France’s 10-year OAT yield rose past 5.1%, and the gap between it and Germany’s 10-year Bund widened to 170 basis points.

The widening gap shows that investors now want higher interest rates to hold French government bonds instead of safer German ones, mostly because of worries surrounding France’s rising national debt and political turbulence.

At the same time, Middle East tensions drove Brent crude past $114 a barrel on October 23, adding to concerns about supply disruptions and inflation heating up once again.

Why Bitcoin Is Vulnerable

QCP said Bitcoin is moving in line with falling stock markets rather than showing an independent price trend. As investors reduce exposure to riskier assets, Bitcoin is also facing selling pressure alongside technology stocks.

Interestingly, long-term US government bond yields dropped as investors looked into safer assets, even while corporate debt grew riskier. That looks more like a flight to safety rather than investors pulling out of financial markets entirely.

QCP also points out that chances of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates in October have dropped sharply, while confidence in a December rate cut is fading. Because of this uncertainty, investors will be keeping a close eye on incoming economic reports, tech company earnings, global political events, and the US midterm elections on November 3.

For Bitcoin, the primary question is whether it can start moving independently instead of following falling stock prices down. Until lending conditions ease and investor confidence returns, pressure on traditional markets will remain a major risk for the crypto industry.
