MCP is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external tools and data, which is how a chatbot can reach a wallet without a custom integration for each service.
FTP Tech is listed as a node-as-a-service provider on the Canton Foundation validators page. According to its Circle partner profile, the company has been building in Web3 since 2021 and describes itself as a core contributor to the Canton ecosystem, including agentic commerce infrastructure such as a wallet, SDK and x402 MCPs.
Canton Network and Canton Coin
Canton is a privacy-focused public Layer 1 network for institutional finance, with Canton Coin (CC) as its native utility token, according to CoinStats. The same source says its applications include tokenized bonds, equities, exchange-traded funds and money-market instruments, along with stablecoin settlement.
CC also plays a role in network economics. 21Shares says institutions pay usage fees in CC rather than in dollars, and that a portion of every CC fee is permanently burned.
The FTP Tech integration points to a different use for the token: a payment and trading currency for automated agents acting on behalf of individual users. The demo shows CC used to buy tokenized assets, rather than only to pay network fees.
Giving AI agents direct access to on-chain wallets is still an early area. The spending caps in FTP Tech's design are one way to keep a human in control while allowing the agent to act on its own within set limits. Users considering such tools should check the cap settings and the permissions granted before funding a wallet.
Details of the product, including availability and supported assets beyond those shown in the demo, have not been independently confirmed.
