Quant crypto hits 4-month high – Why QNT bulls are eyeing $85

Quant [$QNT] has shown relative upside strength since the market rebounded. The altcoin breached the multi-month descending resistance trendline. In doing so, $QNT rose to $76, marking a four-month high before slightly retracing.

At press time, Quant was trading around $75, up 13% on the daily charts. Notably, the market cap climbed to a four month high of $919 million, reflecting high capital flows.

Why is Quant crypto rallying?

Besides the overall market conditions, $QNT seems to have a coin-specific factor driving the uptick. Additionally, the community chatters have linked the price with the European Central Bank’s (ECB) proposal.

Quant represents the TradFi rails narrative, so when its price rises, it signals that investors are reaching for enterprise‑grade crypto exposure. Thus, if more institutions talk about settlement and tokenized assets, tokens like Quant get pulled back into focus.

This appears to have happened recently, with the ECB and 27 EU central banks calling for the removal of MiCA regulation.

The existing framework requires major stablecoin issuers to hold 60% of their reserves in deposits at commercial banks. The policy changed the target to hold reserves in more liquid installments with a 5-day maturity period.

Demand for $QNT reflects this shift

With Quant back in focus, investors are repositioning across the market. On the spot side, after turning positive the previous day, Netflow fell again.

At press time, Spot Netflow was around -$124k, marking a significant reversal from $366k. At these levels, it suggests that investors have pulled significant supply off exchanges.

On the derivatives side, traders have also opened more new positions. According to CoinGlass data, Open Interest (OI) rose 20% to $17 million, backed by a 63% jump in derivatives volume.

The OI rising implied the market is seeing increased speculation, with more traders taking leveraged bets. Often, strong demand from both sides has preceded better price action, but leverage also presents more volatility risks.

What’s next for $QNT?

Quant for now is pointing to trend continuation, holding external factors constant. In fact, the Directional Movement Oscillator (DIOSC) has held within an upward trajectory for seven consecutive days.

At the time of writing, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) held above 70, further confirming this trend’s strength. Therefore, if the prevailing sentiment holds, Quant could try to flip $80, with $85 as a medium-term target.

However, for the bullish outlook to hold, $QNT needs a daily close above $70; failure to which, it will revisit $64 again.

Final Summary

  • Quant surged 13%, breached a multi-month descending channel, and climbed to a four-month high of $76.
  • $QNT’s rally was driven by growing market optimism after the ECB called for stablecoin restriction removal.
