Investors in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) pulled roughly $403 million worth of Bitcoin out of the fund in a single day.

Fund flow data for November 2, 2026 put IBIT’s net outflow at $405.3 million. That was the largest one-day redemption for the fund since June 26 of this year.

What actually happened

Estimates of the client-driven selling land between $403 million and $405 million. The precise figure depends on whose tally you use.

The mechanics matter here. BlackRock did not decide to dump Bitcoin. Its clients redeemed their ETF shares, and the fund had to release the matching amount of Bitcoin to settle those positions.

Those released coins mostly went to Coinbase Prime, the institutional brokerage arm of Coinbase, where they were sold. So the Bitcoin did end up hitting the market. It just got there because of investor decisions, not a call from BlackRock’s trading desk.

Across the full lineup of US spot Bitcoin ETFs, net outflows came to about $398.6 million that day. One fund bucked the trend. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) recorded a modest inflow of $6.7 million.

IBIT’s $405.3 million in outflows, offset by FBTC’s $6.7 million in inflows, lands almost exactly on the sector-wide total. BlackRock’s fund accounted for essentially all of the day’s net selling pressure among US spot Bitcoin ETFs.

A streak, not a one-off

This was not an isolated bad afternoon. The November 2 redemption extended a five-session outflow streak for IBIT, with cumulative withdrawals over that stretch exceeding $1 billion.

The streak ran into early November alongside a selloff in tech stocks led by the Nasdaq.

Bitcoin itself has been stuck in a fairly tight band, trading between $76,000 and $80,000.

Still the biggest fund in the room

For all the red ink, IBIT remains the largest US spot Bitcoin ETF. It leads the category both by assets under management and by total historical net inflows.

What this means for Bitcoin and ETF investors

The most direct effect is on supply. Every redemption that ends with coins being sold through Coinbase Prime adds Bitcoin to the market. With cumulative IBIT redemptions topping $1 billion in just five sessions, that extra supply could weigh on prices if demand from other buyers does not keep pace.

The selling clustered heavily in one fund while Fidelity’s FBTC managed a small inflow. That may point to investors reshuffling which products they hold, or to a particular set of IBIT holders deciding to step back, rather than a uniform exit from the asset class.

The comparison point to keep in mind is June 26, the last time IBIT saw a single-day redemption this large.
