According to the announcement, BitGuild made the decision to move Bitizens from Ethereum due to congestion issues, long waiting times, high gas fees and poor stability. BitGuild sees TRON as the solution to these issues.
“TRON offers fast transaction times and extremely low transaction fees — which can even be paid with bandwidth by freezing TRX,” BitGuid said. “The TRON Virtual Machine has made it easier than ever to develop and scale new dapps. All of this has resulted in a large community of highly engaged TRX holders that are excited to create and use TRON-powered applications.”
This news came the same week that Everdragons, a blockchain-based game that’s built around unique dragon collectibles, revealed that it also plans to expand to the TRON network.
To facilitate the transfer to TRON, BitGuild has taken Bitizens and the portal offline for several days of maintenance.
TRX is currently trading for $0.01339 with an $886.2 million market cap, making it the 10th largest cryptocurrency and the 9th largest constituent in the AltDex 100 Cryptocurrency Index (ALT100).
