Newegg, an online electronics retailer, has started accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) as the official payment method with BitPay.

Before the official announcement, the company began teasing the news on Twitter, asking Tesla CEO Elon Musk if he would shop with them if they added his favorite cryptocurrency.

The online retailer from the US claims that this ad is intended to celebrate Doge’s Day, a fictional holiday that is celebrated on April 20, as it is assumed that the Doge will reach the $1 mark.

Hey @elonmusk, if we accept @dogecoin as a payment option, would you buy from us? #DogeDay #dogecoin 🚀
