Italian professional soccer club Juventus has awarded Cristiano Ronaldo, the team’s forward, with 770 Juventus Fan Tokens (JUV). A report unveiled this news on March 22, noting that the club rewarded Ronaldo before a game with Benevento to mark his record-breaking goal milestone. In so doing, Juventus made Ronaldo the first footballer to get rewarded in crypto after achieving a significant feat.
According to the report, the star also got a unique shirt that praised him for his stellar performance over time. Andrea Agnelli, the president of the Italian Champions gave Ronaldo a T-shirt branded G.O.A.T. 770. The branding symbolises the footballer’s total goal tally since the start of his career and G.O.A.T. means greatest of all time.

Setting new records with crypto
While FIFA does not keep an official record of goals scored by top players, Ronaldo claimed the title, saying that he had managed to score 770 throughout his career. In so doing, he broke the record set by legendary footballer Pele at 767 goals.
Increasing crypto adoption in the sports world
This news comes after English soccer club Manchester City joined the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, and Atletico Madrid after partnering with Socios.com to launch a fan token.
