Ripple, a blockchain payments infrastructure provider, has expanded its partnership with Water.org, a nonprofit improving access to safe water and sanitation. The collaboration has already helped more than 1 million people across Latin America gain access to water and sanitation financing.

As part of the partnership, Water.org is using Ripple's payment infrastructure, its US dollar-backed stablecoin $RLUSD, and digital asset custody services. These tools are designed to make international transfers faster, reduce costs, and simplify the distribution of funds to local financial institutions.

Ripple has also committed $6 million to Water.org over three years. In addition, the nonprofit received a $1.25 million grant in $RLUSD through the Stablecoin Impact Fund. The funding will support the expansion of WaterCredit, a program that provides affordable loans to families for access to water and sanitation. The next markets include Indonesia, the Philippines, and Uganda.
