International rating agency Moody's Investors Service has assigned Ripple's $RLUSD stablecoin a long-term credit rating of A2 and a short-term rating of P-1. This is the first case in the history of the digital asset market in which a native payment token has received a classic investment-grade assessment from a "Big Three" agency.
The P-1 rating is the highest short-term liquidity score in Moody's methodology. In effect, the agency has equated the operational reliability of $RLUSD redemption with the short-term obligations of stable commercial banks, setting a new benchmark for the entire digital fiat money industry.
