Retail $XRP wallets with balances between 1,000 and 100,000 tokens have surged to a new record peak above 1.13 million.

This comes amid the ongoing market-wide correction that has dragged $XRP from a local top close to $1.40 on Oct. 21 to the $1.30 area. While $XRP has dropped 12.64% in October 2026, retail wallets have continued to increase amid an accumulation trend.

Retail $XRP Wallets Hit New Peak

According to on-chain data provided by market analytics platform Glassnode, retail $XRP wallets holding 1,000 to 100,000 tokens have been on a steady upward trend since recording a slight decline in late September.

As a result of this persistent trend, these addresses have grown to 1,138,510 as of press time, marking a new all-time high. Importantly, this class of investors has welcomed more than 3,000 wallets this month alone, leading to the latest peak, while $XRP’s price has struggled.

Of the current figure, retail $XRP wallets holding 1,000 to 10,000 tokens make up the bigger share, with 829,210 addresses within this category. Meanwhile, those holding between 10,000 and 100,000 $XRP have increased to around 309,300 at the time of reporting.

Historical Performance

These wallets have remained in a gradual uptrend this year with only two instances of observable declines. One of these instances played out in early February 2026, as $XRP pulled back from the $2.41 yearly peak in January.

Retail $XRP Wallets in this category had risen to a new peak of 1,095,830 by Feb. 6, 2026. However, four days later, by Feb. 10, their number had reduced to 1,088,450, reflecting a decline of 7,380 wallets within four days.

Retail $XRP wallets spike to a new record high despite $XRP price struggles

From here, the uptrend resumed, pushing the figure to 1,135,310 by Sept. 15, as $XRP’s price embarked on a rebound campaign that led to two consecutive monthly gains and allowed the token to reclaim highs above $1.50.

However, while the price rebound remained intact, these retail wallets started declining again from Sept. 16, collapsing to 1,134,540 by Sept. 26. This marked a loss of nearly 1,000 wallets in ten days. Interestingly, since then, the numbers have picked up again, eventually reaching the latest all-time high.

Retail $XRP Wallets Seeing Comparative Balance Increase

Meanwhile, further data confirms that these retail wallets have also seen a balance increase that compares with the growth in their number.

Notably, these wallets started 2026 with a combined balance of 10.48 billion $XRP. The balance rose to a high of 10.56 billion tokens by early February, coinciding with the increase in retail $XRP wallets above 1 million. As the number of wallets dropped, so did their balance, which collapsed to 10.42 billion $XRP by Feb. 10.

Retail wallets accumulate nearly 400 million $XRP in 2026

Since then, the figure has continued to rise alongside the number of wallets, despite also dropping toward the end of September. Today, these wallets now hold 10.86 billion $XRP, having accumulated about 380 million $XRP tokens this year.
