Arbitrum One recorded 571,767 daily active addresses on Oct. 21, its highest count in 30 days and nearly five times the preceding week's median, according to growthepie's daily series. The burst had faded by the following morning.
The Ethereum Layer 2's address count rose from 201,145 on Oct. 20, while transactions increased much less sharply—from 1,505,085 to 1,660,573, according to growthepie's transaction series. That divergence matters for readers tracking network adoption: more active addresses did not translate into a comparable expansion in transactions.
Hourly data show the surge was short-lived. Arbitrum exceeded 104,000 active addresses in each of the three hours beginning at 14:00 UTC on Oct. 21. In the first nine hourly observations on Oct. 22, counts were back below 10,000. These are addresses, not a count of individual people, and the data do not establish whether bots or an incentive campaign drove the increase.
