Just 659? Shiba Inu L2 Transaction Hits Monthly Low as Activity Drops

Shibarium's daily transactions dropped to 659 in the last 24 hours, the lowest since September 20, 2026, according to Shibariumscan data. The Shiba Inu layer 2 saw 2,280 transactions on October 15, 2026, which dropped to 659 on October 17, 2026.

The dip shows there is less activity on the network as a whole. The number of transactions fell sharply from 5,710 on October 6 after a steady rise in September. While the number of transactions is a metric for measuring network usage, it does not capture all aspects of ecosystem participation.

Shibarium continues to receive quiet upgrades behind the scenes. According to long-time $SHIB community member Mazrael, CreateX is now live on Shibarium. CreateX is the standard factory devs use to deploy contracts at the same address on every chain, making multi-chain deploys on Shibarium much easier.

In a separate development, all 12 Safe v1.4.1 contracts are deployed at their canonical addresses via the Safe Singleton Factory.

In separate news, x402 is fully live on Shibarium with two payment modes: exact, allowing users to pay a fixed price, and up to, allowing users to pay up to a cap, for metered APIs and AI agents. AI agents can pay in $SHIB, TREAT, or wrapped BONE.

A notice on the Shibariumscan page reveals ongoing indexing: "59% Blocks Indexed – We're indexing this chain right now. Some of the counts may be inaccurate."

Shiba Inu adds 2,495 holders

Shiba Inu continues to expand its holder base in October, adding 2,495 holders according to the Etherscan $SHIB X account despite relatively quiet growth across the broader cryptocurrency market.

The increase suggests that $SHIB continues to attract new wallet holders, but whether that growth translates into stronger market demand remains to be seen as the month progresses.
