Along these lines, RWA Foundation provided details of stablecoin market cap growth by issuer for Q3 2026. The biggest of the issuers that contracted was Tether, whose market cap was down by $207.7 million. Ripple is among the top 3 issuers based on stablecoin market cap growth, behind only Circle.

Circle added $915 million over 90 days, more than any other issuer, while Ripple, which added $765.3 million, and United Stables, which added $474.2 million, were second and third.

The fastest growers were not the largest; Ripple's $RLUSD accounts for only 0.8% of stablecoin supply and U stablecoin holds 0.5%, yet they ranked second and third. Tether (USDT), which holds 61.0% of supply, is not in the top 10. Ripple USD ($RLUSD) also got into the top 10 for holder growth, adding 23,600 in Q3 2026.

$RLUSD highlights

Ripple SVP of Stablecoins Jack McDonald shared highlights from $RLUSD's monthly independent attestation for August. $RLUSD continues to grow, topping $2.4 billion in market cap, up over 50% in a month. The average daily activity for $RLUSD has more than tripled since the start of the year.

Ripple updated the $XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, adding support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), co-authored by Stripe and Tempo, giving developers a way to enable AI agents to make one-time payments on the XRPL using $XRP and issued assets like $RLUSD.

$RLUSD also expanded its liquidity and distribution through Spark Finance's Stablecoin FX Layer on Uniswap v4, with $RLUSD/USDS processing more than $600 million in its first week.
