REX Shares and Osprey Funds have set Oct. 23 as the target effective date for a proposed exchange-traded fund offering exposure to Sei’s $SEI token while generating income through staking.

The managers filed a post-effective amendment on Sept. 24 under the ETF Opportunities Trust, moving the proposed $SEI product closer to launch. Sei Network reported the development on X.

The filing is part of a broader group of crypto ETF products targeting the same Oct. 23 effective date, including proposed funds tied to Avalanche’s $AVAX, Sui’s $SUI, Near Protocol’s $NEAR and Hyperliquid’s $HYPE.

$SEI ETF Adds Staking

The proposed REX-Osprey $SEI + Staking ETF would hold $SEI and stake part of its holdings through Sei Network’s proof-of-stake system. This would give investors exposure to the token while allowing the fund to earn staking rewards.

REX Shares and Osprey Funds have been developing a broader lineup of digital-asset ETFs, including spot and staking-based products.

ETF Still Needs Final Steps

An Oct. 23 effective date would not necessarily mean the ETF begins trading that day. The managers would still need to complete listing and operational requirements before trading could begin, potentially on Cboe BZX.

Canary Capital has also advanced a proposal for a staked $SEI ETF, adding another potential product focused on combining $SEI exposure with staking rewards.
