Renowned software developer and cryptocurrency enthusiast John McAfee, on Saturday, June 20, reveal that he does not invest in cryptocurrency assets.

McAfee used to be a Bitcoin evangelist until this year when he began tongue-lashing the leading asset, stating that it is not the future of cryptocurrency. McAfee has since then reduced his praise of Bitcoin even though some regard him for his opinion about cryptocurrency. The latest update on cryptocurrency from the one-time US Presidential aspirant may sound abhorrent to crypto investors who look up to McAfee in the industry, as the software programmer revealed that he does not invest in cryptocurrency.

However, he said he only uses cryptocurrency, explaining that there is a clear distinction between using a cryptocurrency and investing in the digital asset class.

McAfee Reveals the Cryptocurrency He Uses

The crypto community might have in the past nursed the belief that McAfee is one of the biggest investors in the crypto space owing to his periodic crypto pitching.

McAfee’s latest revelation about cryptocurrency grabbed the attention of cryptocurrency users who are his followers on Twitter, as many drop their perception about the statement.

When asked about the cryptocurrency he has interest in, McAfee said DAI and Monero are the only two cryptocurrencies he uses.

He explained furthered that he only makes use of these cryptocurrencies “whenever possible.”

Despite promoting a number of cryptocurrencies like Docademic, McAFee had since displayed his enormous interest in DAI and Monero, advocating for the two cryptocurrencies.

Earlier, when asked about the best altcoin to use, McAfee highlighted DAI as the best altcoin for use when considering stability. In a separate statement, McAfee also drummed support for Monero.

Earlier, McAfee announced the decision to stop cryptocurrency promotion, after he had retracted his predictions that Bitcoin will hit 1Million USD before the end of 2020.

However, McAfee had launched his privacy coin called Ghost and has declared a forthcoming launch of the Ghost cell phone service, which is intended to keep users’ identity and make location tracking impossible.
