Shiba Inu: Quiet Shibarium Infrastructure Shift Revealed, What Happened?

Longtime Shiba Inu community member and Shiba Eternity advisor Mazrael shared a quiet infrastructure shift involving the Shibarium explorer, ShibariumScan, in an X post.

On August 12, Mazrael reported that the Shibarium explorer was back online and indexing again, but that branding and Shibnames support had been lost, leaving many wondering what had occurred.

Clues about what happened can now be deduced from a recent X post by Mazrael. According to Mazrael, Shibarium's explorer went behind Cloudflare on August 11. He noted a DNS change as being part of the outage story.

Mazrael noted that Cloudflare was already being used for DNS, but this pointed straight at the server. On August 11, this was switched to proxied. Mazrael described this as an infrastructure migration, which lines up exactly with the explorer coming back as a stock deployment. The branding and .shib config remained missing, and the backfill has been frozen since.

Mazrael added that the registrar touch observed on August 11 at 19:15 is part of the same operation. The Shibarium domain itself is healthy and due to expire on August 1, 2027 (2027-08-01), and all four transfer locks are on.

However, the launchpad flood continues but remains empty. Mazrael went on to share further statistics: "V3 Factory nonce 441 → 483, 42 more pools, 69 created in the last 24 hours. I sampled 25 of them: 0 of 25 with any real trading, 0.0000 WBONE liquidity across all 25."

Alert issued on Shibthemetaverse domain

Mazrael shared a development regarding the Shib the Metaverse page, which he says is now running domain-parking ads. Domain parking typically involves displaying advertising or promotional links on a domain that is not currently being used for its original website or application.

Mazrael described the development as a confirmation of the domain's divestment. As previously reported, Mazrael indicated that Shiba Inu legacy websites have been decommissioned, with the Shib Metaverse now being owned by a third party.

The recent development marks a severance of the Shibthemetaverse domain's previous association with the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
