$XRP is Well-Positioned in Japan

The analyst further noted that Japan’s cabinet recently approved the Crypto Bill, with $XRP well-positioned to gain the most. He explained that the cryptocurrency is deeply embedded in Japan’s economy via SBI Ripple Asia, real-world bank remittances, and on-chain bonds. He also quoted SBI CEO Yoshitaka Kitao, who said, “$XRP will be very expensive.”

Notably, many experts within the cryptocurrency industry consider Takaichi’s keynote address at Asia’s largest Web3 conference, WebX 2026, a significant driver of the narrative for broader $XRP adoption across Japan. They view it as a high-profile government endorsement that intersects with Ripple’s prominent regional presence.

Japan’s PM’s Body Language Favors $XRP

Aspects of Takaichi’s address highlighted the declaration of a blockchain-based social implementation as a strategic priority for her cabinet. Analysts believe the declaration signals to conservative traditional finance (TradFi) institutions that building on ledger ecosystems is politically safe.

Takaichi also noted her administration’s efforts toward fostering an environment for yen-pegged stablecoins and tokenized deposits. Meanwhile, Japan’s three megabanks—Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMBC), and Mizuho Financial Group—and Ripple’s key regional partner, SBI Holdings, are heavily involved in these sessions.

It is worth noting that a regulated yen-stablecoin framework boosts $XRP’s utility as a bridge asset for instant cross-border liquidity and settlement. Hence, Takaichi’s supermajority government is moving forward with reforms to transition crypto taxation into a flat 20% financial product tax. Lowering the barrier from the previous volatile income tax rates directly invites retail and institutional liquidity into the domestic $XRP ecosystem.
