MANTRA, a L1 blockchain focused on tokenized RWAs, has announced the start of its first OM token buyback. The program is supported by investors and stakeholders who have committed at least $25 million to fund the process.

The buyback began on August 27, 2025. It will be carried out over several months by MANTRA AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of the MANTRA Chain Association. Independent trading firms will place repeated buy orders on centralized exchanges, close to current market prices. After each stage, purchased tokens will be withdrawn from exchanges, migrated to the MANTRA Chain mainnet, and staked with the validator network.

This buyback comes shortly after a $20 million investment from Inveniam, aimed at strengthening MANTRA’s infrastructure for institutional markets and expanding adoption of RWAs. Together, the two announcements represent a minimum of $45 million in funding directed toward MANTRA’s ecosystem.

At today’s market prices, the program is expected to repurchase around 110 million OM tokens, which equals about 10% of the total circulating supply.
