Cardano community commentator “Big Pey” has cautioned that millions of users across major blockchains, including XRP and Bitcoin, could be missing out on billions of dollars in free tokens.

The warning comes amid unclaimed tokens in the Midnight Glacier Drop airdrop, which is now in its final 40 days.

Big Pey noted that Cardano, Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, Ethereum, BNB, Avalanche, and Brave browser users are eligible for the ongoing NIGHT airdrop. However, many have yet to claim their tokens.

Glacier Drop Claim Mechanics

The claim portal (https://claim.midnight.gd/) was launched earlier this month by the Midnight team. It allows users to secure their tokens in four steps.

First, the users must connect their eligible wallets, referred to as “origin addresses.” These wallets must have held at least $100 in a native blockchain address at the time of the snapshot.

Participants will provide a Cardano address to receive NIGHT tokens. They then accept the terms and conditions and sign the transaction to complete the process.

The current claim window, known as the Glacier Drop, runs for 60 days. With 40 days remaining (until October 4), the distribution will enter its next phase, the Scavenger Mine.

Here, users can earn additional unclaimed tokens through computational tasks. A final Lost-and-Found phase will follow before any remaining tokens are transferred to the Midnight treasury.

Cardano Holds the Lion’s Share

While the distribution is spread across multiple blockchains, Cardano wallets will benefit the most. ADA holders are allocated 50% of NIGHT’s total supply (12 billion tokens) for about 1.07 million wallets.

Bitcoin wallets will receive 20% (4.8 billion tokens), with at least 17 million addresses eligible. The remaining 30% (7.2 billion tokens) is shared among XRP (2.2 million holders), Ethereum (7.86 million wallets), Solana (3.465 million addresses), BNB (1.21 million holders), Avalanche (227K holders), and Basic Attention Token (24,605 users).

Breakdown of Claimed Tokens

According to statistics shared by Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson on August 19, just over 69,000 wallets have claimed their NIGHT tokens, with over 1.3 billion tokens claimed so far.

By network, the biggest participants have been Cardano holders with 61.3% of claims. Next was Bitcoin, with 19.4%, and Ethereum wallets claimed 9% of their allocation. Meanwhile, XRP claimed 5.7%, and others accounted for just 4.64%.

NIGHT token claim statistics by Cardano Charles Hoskinson

In a live session on Friday, Hoskinson noted that claims had improved to over 70,000 wallets with over 1.6 billion NIGHT tokens claimed.

With billions of dollars’ worth of tokens still unclaimed, users across all eight chains have only weeks left to secure their share before the next phase begins.
