The objective of this Hackathon is to support developers that want to create and run decentralized finance (DeFi), GameFi, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Web3 projects on the Tron blockchain.

During this Hackathon, members of the TRON DAO community can interact, find information and engage in discussions around the cryptocurrency community. The TRON DAO ensures that each community member can participate in various developments.
The founder of TRON, Justin Sun, commented on this development, saying that,
With the increasing use of decentralized, peer-to-peer and secure networks, blockchain is becoming the backbone of Web 3.0 – the decentralized web.
The Hackathon will attract developers that are yet to make a name for themselves in the blockchain space, especially in Web3. Moreover, more projects launching on the TRON network will be good for the ecosystem’s growth.
New developers that launch their work on the BitTorrent (BTT/USD) chain will also benefit from the easy migration of their project to other blockchain networks such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and TRON. The project is open to all blockchain developers, product managers, and designers.
Any open-source DeFi, NFT, GameFi of Web3 project programmed in Solidity and running on TRON, Ethereum or Binance Smart Chain before the deadline will be an eligible participant of this Hackathon. Existing projects running on TRON or other blockchains will also be considered.
How the Hackathon will run
During this Hackathon, there will be a permanent review panel. Each season will also feature a dynamic special guest panel. The panels will comprise crypto experts and a public community review board. Reviewers from the TRON community will vote transparently on the TRON DAO platform.
The first season of this Hackathon will commence on February 14, 2022, and end on March 7, 2022. When filing the registration form, the applicants need to give comprehensive details about their project. The applicants also need to submit these details to the forum, as interactions with the community will also be assessed.
During these forum threads, the candidate should answer community questions. The panel will use the feedback collected from the community when judging the viability of a project.
Every season will have four tracks: DeFi, GameFi, NFT and Web3. The aggregate bounty for each hackathon season is $500K. A new season will start after every three months, boosting the long-term growth of TRON and BitTorrent.
The TRON blockchain is dedicated to decentralizing the internet and supporting decentralized applications (DApps). TRON had a mainnet launch in May 2018, and it later integrated with the BitTorrent chain in July 2018. The latter is one of the popular projects in the decentralized world, with almost 100 million monthly active users.
The TRON blockchain has recorded significant growth over the past few years. There are more than 69 million users on the blockchain, while the number of transactions stands at over 2.7 billion. TRON is especially popular with stablecoins, with the network surpassing Ethereum by having the largest circulating supply of stablecoins. In December 2021, TRON became a network entirely governed by a community DAO, thereby achieving complete decentralization.
