According to on-chain data analyst Yu Jin, an unidentified whale or institutional investor purchased $15 million worth of $AAVE tokens through algorithmic market maker Wintermute today.
The investor in question first transferred 15 million USDC to Wintermute, then received 57,715 $AAVE tokens into his wallet, representing a purchase price of approximately $259.9 per unit.
Interestingly, the same investor sold 184.4 WBTC for approximately $20.4 million via Wintermute’s OTC (over-the-counter) service yesterday.
According to the data, the whale has been accumulating $AAVE since March 2023. So far, he has spent a total of $30.8 million to purchase 224,010 $AAVE. With an average purchase price of $137.5, the investor has an unrealized profit of approximately $26.32 million at current market values.
At the time of writing, $AAVE is trading at $265.
The whale's wallet contains a total of $59.14 million in assets.
