The approval timeline for the potential launch of the Grayscale XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) has officially commenced.

This comes after the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) posted the Grayscale XRP ETF 19b-4 filing in the Federal Register.

Grayscale XRP ETF Filing

On January 30, NYSE Arca submitted a 19b-4 application to convert Grayscale’s XRP Trust into a spot-based ETF. Notably, the SEC acknowledged the filing on February 13, inviting public comments.

Interestingly, the SEC has now entered the Grayscale XRP ETF filing into the Federal Register. FOX Business Journalist Eleanor Terrett confirmed this development.

With Grayscale XRP ETF 19b-4 filing now live in the Federal Register, the SEC has up to 240 days to decide whether to deny or approve the application. Specifically, Terrett highlighted October 18, 2025, as the deadline for this decision.

During this period, the SEC will review the XRP ETF’s regulatory compliance, investor protection concerns, and market impact to ascertain whether to approve it for launch.

If the filing is approved, it would mark a major step toward attracting more institutional investment into XRP. In the interim, publishing the Grayscale XRP ETF filing in the Federal Register opens a 21-day window for public comment.

Other Acknowledged XRP ETF Filings to Go Live in Federal Register

Notably, the SEC will enter other acknowledged XRP ETF 19b-4 filings into the Federal Register in the coming days.

As previously reported, the SEC has acknowledged six XRP ETF 19b-4 filings, including the Grayscale application. The other acknowledged filings came from Bitwise, Canary Capital, 21Shares, WisdomTree, and CoinShares.

Odds of XRP ETF Launch in 2025 Soars

Meanwhile, crypto enthusiasts have remained confident that the SEC will approve at least one XRP ETF this year despite regulatory uncertainty stemming from the Ripple lawsuit.

The odds of an XRP ETF being approved in 2025 now stand at 81%, marking a slight surge from the previous day’s record of 80%.

XRP ETF approval odds on Polymarket

This confidence stems from speculations that the new SEC leadership might dismiss the Ripple lawsuit due to its pro-crypto stance. Whether the SEC will dismiss the lawsuit and approve a spot-based XRP ETF remains to be seen.
