Elon MUSK, one of the biggest supporters of Dogecoin, talked about DOGE in a statement on X and praised DOGE again. Speaking about the criticism of Dogecoin’s unlimited supply and inflation, Musk said:
“I think Dogecoin’s flat inflation, that is, proportionally decreasing inflation, is a feature, not a bug.”
DOGE does not have a limited supply like Bitcoin, which is often criticized by cryptocurrency supporters. In fact, Musk wrote this post in response to a statement by Dogecoin founder Billy MARKUS about inflation.
Markus reproachfully said that there is a way to remove inflation from the DOGE mechanics and showed a part of the DOGE open source code that needs to be edited to change it. He said that an official request needs to be made about this first and that the community and miners need to be convinced. He also added that he is tired of questions about inflation. Markus is currently not involved in the management of DOGE and sold all of his Dogecoin holdings many years ago. Elon Musk, on the other hand, has not shared any direct information about Dogecoin for a long time.
