Popular Telegram game Catizen is set to launch its CATI token on The Open Network next week, on September 20, and the airdrop should take place at or around the same time. On Tuesday, developer Pluto Studio shared which players will be eligible for a share of tokens.
And out of the approximately 35.8 million players who have tried Catizen, based on in-game data, it appears that less than half are currently making the cutoff. That’s because only players who have earned enough in-game vKitty coins to reach the “Silver League” will be eligible, and Pluto shared how many players have made the cut as of Tuesday.
As to a post shared to the official Catizen community on Telegram, over 15.2 million total players are currently eligible for a share of the airdrop, with the remaining players—over 20 million as of the early afternoon post—still stuck in the Bronze League and ineligible for rewards.
“Grab this last moment to join in Catizen!” the post adds, apparently encouraging players to either get started—or work to boost their standing.

The graphic included with the post appears to show how many players have reached each in-game league, with nearly 12.7 million in the Silver League, the next step up from Bronze. Over 2 million players have reached the Gold League, about 320,000 players are in Platinum, 76,000 players are in Diamond, and 108,000 are in the Master League.
Just 10,505 players have made it to the top Royal League and are likely to receive the juiciest airdrops of all. But Catizen has yet to share allocation details.
Built as a mini app within the Telegram messaging platform, Catizen is a simple matching puzzle game where players match similar cats in a cat cafe. By doing so, they can unlock higher-level cat varieties and earn more in-game currency, which will unlock an allocation of the upcoming, on-chain CATI token.
The timing of the airdrop remains unclear, but Catizen has confirmed its token launch for September 20, with major exchanges like OKX, HashKey, and KuCoin lining up to list the token. Multiple exchanges have already started offering pre-market trading for CATI.
It’s one of multiple popular Telegram games set to launch their tokens before the end of the month, with the fitness and combat-themed Rocky Rabbit launching its RabBitcoin (RBTC) token on September 23, and the massive Hamster Kombat launching HMSTR on September 26. Both of those tokens are also launching on TON.
It’s sure to be a pivotal set of launches for the Telegram crypto gaming ecosystem, which sprang to life earlier this year with the rise of Notcoin, a tap-to-earn game that drew 35 million players before launching the year’s biggest gaming token to date.
The Open Network’s fortunes have similarly grown alongside Telegram’s gaming surge, though questions remain over whether the network will be able to handle the immense demand of upcoming token launches and airdrops, given bouts of downtime in late August.
