Layer-1 blockchain NEAR’s native token (NEAR) has nearly doubled since March 5, ahead of Nvidia’s annual conference (NVDA) that continues to drive growth in AI-related tokens. Near’s success is reflected in the crypto AI market, with companies such as Fetch.Ai (FET), The Graph (GRT) and SingularityNET (AGIX) recording gains of over 30% over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap. The CoinDesk 20 Index (CD20) rose 9.18% over the same period. The rise was also boosted by Bitcoin’s all-time high of $72,446 on Monday.

Adding to the bullish sentiment, cryptocurrency venture capital firm DeFiance Capital’s CEO Arthur CHEONG wrote in a social media post that “the future is NEAR” on Monday after the token rose another 20% to $7.00, its highest level since May 2022. On March 5, it was trading at $3.60.

Near Protocol co-founder and CEO Illia POLOSUKHIN will take part in a discussion at the Transforming AI conference, moderated by Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen HUANG. Its presence and the upcoming release of Near Tasks, the artificial intelligence (AI) aspect of the business, have sparked discussion about whether NEAR will work closely with Nvidia in the future.
