The Starknet Foundation has announced the first distribution round of STRK, the native token of the Ethereum Layer-2 network Starknet.

In a post on Wednesday, the foundation said the distribution is the first part of the Provisions Program – an airdrop of the STRK token to early ecosystem users. In this phase, Starknet plans to allocate up to 700 million STRK tokens to nearly 1.3 million wallets.

According to the foundation, the first round of the program is part of the 900 million STRK earmarked for the Provisions program. The total STRK allocated to the community is 1.8 billion STRK.

The Starknet Provisions Program is designed for a broad distribution of STRK to those who’ve substantially contributed to Starknet.

Who is eligible for the STRK airdrop?

Eligibility has been pegged on various metrics as of the snapshot date on November 15, 2023, with those eligible including Starknet users, Early Community Member Program (ECMP) users, Starknet developers and ETH stakers among others. More than 50% of the distribution will go to Starknet users.

“Users who performed more than five transactions in total up to November 15th, 2023, were active for three months or more, transacted with $100 volume or more, and had 0.005 ETH or more in their account on November 15th, 2023, are eligible for Provisions,” the Starknet Foundation wrote in the blog post published earlier today.

Devs, ECMP users and ETH stakers can check their eligibility on the official Provisions portal. Users will also make STRK claims via the same portal, with Starknet asking the community to beware of potential scams. STRK tokens will be available for claiming beginning February 20, 2024, with users required to submit a Starknet wallet to receive their allocation.

STRK airdrop recipients will have up to four months to claim their tokens, which means the final date one can claim tokens will be June 20, 2024.
