Leading crypto self-custody service provider Tangem now natively supports tokens on the VeChain blockchain within its application.

Tangem has disclosed the integration of the VeChain blockchain network into its crypto self-custody solution. The hardware wallet provider revealed the new development in a recent post on social media platform X.

VeChain Now Natively Supported in Tangem

Following this integration, VeChain enthusiasts can securely take store of ecosystem tokens, including VET and VTHO, to their Tangem mobile application through VeChain’s native network, VeChainThor.

The notification from Tangem read:

“Vechain in Tangem! The VeChainThor network is now available in Tangem, allowing for secure storage, sending, and receiving of VET, VTHO, and other tokens.”

Notably, this move comes about six weeks after the firm disclosed it was actively working on integrating the VeChain native network.

Before this integration, Tangem users were limited to sending and receiving ecosystem tokens like VET in their hardware wallet through the BNB Smart Chain network, BEP20. Now, users can securely receive tokens for storage through VeChain’s native blockchain network.

Nonetheless, Tangem users will not receive this upgrade automatically on the mobile app. Specifically, users must update their application via either Apple’s App Store or Google Play to access the VeChain update.

XDC Network Now in Tangem

Meanwhile, VeChain is not the sole blockchain to benefit from a new integration by the hardware wallet provider. In particular, Tangem now supports the XDC network on its self-custody service.

Tangem similarly announced the significant integration on X, highlighting that all XDC-based tokens are now storable with their hardware wallet solution. It read:

“We’re delighted to announce that the XDC and all 13 tokens built on the XDC Network protocol are now available in Tangem. Send, receive, swap, and store these assets easily and safely with your Tangem Wallet.”

Other newly added features to the Tangem app include transaction history support for Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash, and Ethereum Classic.

Significantly, Tangem brings a new twist to crypto self-custody by offering physical cards embedding the wallet’s private keys. This contrasts with the solution offered by Leger, which features a rechargeable digital device.

Tangem Wallet is widely regarded as one of the most secure crypto storage options available.
