General Updates

Neo opened phase two of its sidechain naming campaign, announcing a shortlist of 20 names for the community to vote on. Phase two is open from Nov. 17 to Nov. 27, in which the community is invited to narrow the list down to five names. A $4,000 prize pool has been allocated for participants in the voting process.

Neo Global Development released the general monthly report for Sep. 2023, which noted regional GAS Station stops as part of the APAC Hackathon, conference attendances, partnerships, and community engagement efforts.

Neo Global Development published an article highlighting four of the top five winners from the Neo APAC Hackathon, including Prophet (DeFi and payment), magipop (AI, Social, and DAO), NeoCast (Infrastructure), and RESPECT (General). The fifth project was not mentioned, as NGD stated, “The NFT and Gaming prize is on hold due to a potential violation of the terms and conditions for the hackathon competition.”

Neo’s Discord server suffered an attack on Monday, Nov. 13. An admin user’s account was compromised, leading to the removal of other members of the server with elevated permissions. The server was quickly re-secured and is safe again.

ITEM Systems collaborated with the Hobby Hangout trading card show, bringing an interactive experience to attendees in Melbourne through its non-fungible item technology. The event was at the Melbourne Pavilion on Nov. 19, and hosted 1,000 attendees. ITEM Systems introduced an event-level app featuring a unique scavenger hunt. Participation required users to locate and scan NFI waypoint plaques distributed across vendor tables within the venue. ITEM Systems is also giving away an exclusive 1-of-1 crafted sports card by Kev’s Kards featuring NFI technology to one lucky winner on Twitter.

Meme2Earn launched the Neo Sidechain Naming Campaign Meme Contest. This event invites the global meme community to contribute their creativity in parallel with Neo’s ongoing Sidechain Naming Campaign. The contest will run through Nov. 27 and offers a total prize pool of US $1,000 in TIPS tokens.

Forthewin Network expanded its platform with the integration of Ethereum and Polygon networks, with support for features such as Swap, Farm, and Smith, as part of its multi-chain strategy for 2023.

TOTHEMOON opened its Infrastructure Deed Burning / Moon Infrastructure Mint. Creating a Moon Infrastructure requires the burning of an Infrastructure Deed NFT.

Carrot Swap announced it will distribute Second Bunny NFTs to the first 10,000 participants of its incentivized TestNet. Additionally, Carrot Swap revealed a partnership with omnichain naming service ZNS Connect.

Flamingo’s FLM token was listed on the CoinEx custodial exchange, which was founded in 2017 and currently has over 700 coins available for trade. Flamingo also released stats on the top liquidity pools by trading volume for week 45 of 2023. They included approximately US $12.6 million in FLP-bNEO-GAS, $10.6 million in FLP-FLM-GAS, and $6.3 million in FLP-FLM-bNEO.

The Rust SDK for Neo proposal on GrantShares was executed with funding dispersed, while a new proposal for the $ND Project was opened for discussion.
