Neo has released an update to NeoChat that integrates ChatGPT 4.0 and a new NeoNS feature into the address-to-address instant chat application. NeoChat was built to facilitate private social interactions in Web3 with end-to-end encryption.
The first five Chat GPT inquiries are complimentary. As the ChatGPT 4.0 large language model and interface requires more computational resources to run, it is more expensive than the previous version used in the app. NeoChat now offers a “top-up” option for users to pre-pay for the cost of ChatGPT 4.0 queries using GAS. The cost of each query will be deducted from the topped-up account based on the total amount of words in both the prompt and answer.
The amount of dollar-based credits the user receives is based on the real-time cost of GAS at the time of the top-up. The website notes that US $1 typically covers approximately 12,000 English words or 8,000 Chinese characters.
Alongside the integration of ChatGPT 4.0, the team also added the reverse resolution feature for NeoNS domain names. Reverse resolution allows other users to see a NeoNS name instead of the alphanumeric string of characters associated with the public wallet address. Now, the user’s NeoNS domain name is automatically shown within the header of the conversations on the application. This feature was added to make it smoother to initiate conversations and for interactions to feel more personalized.
Since the launch of NeoChat in March 2023, 518 unique N3 addresses have utilized the service, which has facilitated nearly 32,000 messages. Looking forward, the Neo team aims to collaborate with ecosystem projects to integrate NeoChat as a native feature of third-party dApps.
