The largest decentralized exchange in the world, Uniswap, is preparing for a significant move. After successful voting on the Michigan Blockchain, it can be deployed on the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM). More than 15.39 mln UNI tokens, representing 99.99%, expressed support for the strategic deployment. However, the initiators expect another 40 mln votes for the final decision. Voting ends on October 6th.
Michigan Blockchain emphasizes the importance of integrating Uniswap into FVM, citing Filecoin's key role in blockchain storage. Filecoin has become a trusted storage provider, making this a logical step in the development of a decentralized data economy. Filecoin successfully implemented a virtual machine a few months ago, providing developers in the DeFi and gaming industry with new capabilities using smart contracts.
The Filecoin ecosystem is actively developing with the participation of major players, including liquid staking platforms GLIF, STFIL, the SFT protocol and MineFi. Filecoin also introduced new features for further development, including Filecoin Web Services (FWS), which is a decentralized alternative to giants Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. Uniswap, originally launched on Ethereum, continues to successfully integrate into various blockchains, including Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Base, BNB, Avalanche and Celo.
