A former Olympic wrestler, American retired professional mixed martial artist Ben Askren has said XRP is nothing but a scam.
The former assistant wrestling coach at Arizona State University, who was also an American amateur wrestler for the University of Missouri, shared his opinion about the native token of XRP Ledger that is widely used in the remittance industry and adopted by MoneyGram, through the firm’s usage of Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity (ODL).
Askren Says XRP is a Scam
Askren, like many other Bitcoin maximalists, branded XRP as a scam without giving more details.
The martial art wrestler made the somewhat displeasing comment about XRP after one of his followers assumed that Askren’s silence on XRP denoted that it would take the digital currency a very long time to go higher in terms of price.
“The fact @Benaskren is staying quiet on XRP tells me its [sic] going to take it a long time if ever to moon,” one of Askren’s followers conjectured.
To add more to the assumption, Askren said, “I think XRP is a scam.”
Like Askren, ICO investor Alistair Milne and Tone Vays believe XRP is a scam token created by Ripple purposely to enrich the company.
Alistair, had said the “excessively” high amount of XRP token held in Ripple’s custody was a confirmation of the assertion that Ripple invented the digital currency to scam unsuspecting investors.
Alistair recently said: “Imagine PlusToken having the majority of Bitcoin in their wallet, constantly dumping it slowly on HODL’ers. I’ve just described Ripple. …who have just raised $200million for ~2% of their ‘business’.”

Askren’s Love for Litecoin
Ben Askren has been a good fan of Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin since 2018 when he was widely known as a UFC fighter and martial artist.
Around 2019, Ben was seen wearing a promotional shirt of the Litecoin Foundation, at a time the not-for-profit organization sponsored a UFC event. The wrestler, to date, has been supporting Litecoin and Bitcoin.
The crypto observer does not use to talk about digital currencies aside from the two until he was forced to do by one of his followers.
Is XRP a Fraud?
