During the testing phase of the HyperSDK blockchain upgrade, the Avalanche testnet set a new standard in the blockchain industry, reportedly achieving over 140,000 TPS. In comparison, other established blockchain players such as Solana boast transaction speeds of 2,000 to 3,000 TPS. Ethereum, one of the most widely used blockchains, processes only 15-20 TPS, according to Coincodex.

A screenshot published on GitHub confirms the impressive 143,322 TPS achieved in a controlled test environment. However, Nick MUSSALLEM, head of product at Ava Labs, provided a more realistic view of the results. Mussallem stated that although the test network achieved 141,000 TPS in a controlled environment, real-world throughput could stabilize at around 50,000 TPS, which is still outstanding performance.

What sets HyperSDK apart is its architectural design, which allows developers to leverage a high-speed runtime without having to write extensive code from scratch. This innovative approach greatly simplifies and speeds up the process of developing custom virtual machines (VMs). This means that developers can now launch optimized blockchains more easily and efficiently.
