NEAR Protocol Selects Wormhole as Official Bridge for ZK Development

According to the official blog, Wormhole bridge has announced that $NEAR Protocol has selected it as the new official bridge. Wormhole will allow all $NEAR assets to seamlessly connect to over 20 connected chains, and hundreds of Wormhole-based applications and communities will be included in the $NEAR ecosystem.

Wormhole core contributors will join Zpoken and $NEAR in developing the ZK light client, which confirms and verifies the state of Ethereum and $NEAR without today's trust assumptions. ZK light client will serve as the foundation of the first trustless ETH <> $NEAR corridor, providing users with a more secure bridge through the new official Wormhole-based $NEAR bridge.

Wormhole provides developers with access to liquidity and users on over 20 leading blockchain networks, enabling advanced DeFi, NFT, and governance use cases. This allows a growing set of products to be built on top of the messaging layer.
