Litecoin BlockCard

In mid-June this year, the Litecoin Foundation spread the word about teaming up with other two players of the crypto market – Bibox crypto exchange and Ternio.

Together the three companies are working to create a debit card that will give LTC users a chance to spend their favorite LTC, as well as its partners’ coins BIX and TERN, both online and in brick-and-mortar stores.

As per the company statement, customers will be able to use this card for payments at any point-of-sale that accepts regular cards of global payment service providers.

Bibox will provide custody service for Litecoin cardholders.

Other sources report that the card will also let customers use BTC and ETH.

Initially, the plan is to launch the Litecoin BlockCard in the US and only after that it will be released in other countries.

The LTC creator Charlie Lee commented on that, saying that the new collaboration will allow the Foundation to help people utilize LTC on a daily basis.

The community is in anticipation as a UK release approaches

In the comment thread, the community expressed enthusiasm regarding the coming launch of the card. When asked about its release in the United Kingdom, a Ternio rep replied that in the UK it is planned to happen in Q4 this year.
