The EOS Network Foundation (ENF) has introduced the beta release of the mainnet, aimed at enhancing interoperability between two blockchain ecosystems, Ethereum and EOS.

By emulating the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), EOS EVM enables the deployment of decentralised applications (DApps) written in Solidity, the programming language used by most web3 developers.

Launching April 14th: The next generation of EVMs is almost here.

At 800+ swaps per second, $EOS EVM is BY FAR the most performant EVM, benchmarked at 25x faster than Avax and 3x faster than Solana.

According to the ENF team, Ethereum’s scalability issues pose significant challenges for mass-scale DApp deployment, which the EOS EVM aims to bridge by leveraging the resources of the Ethereum community and the performance of the EOS Network.

Yves La Rose, CEO of the EOS Network Foundation, expressed his excitement about this significant milestone, saying it represents the foundation’s commitment to a multi-chain future. EOS EVM’s deployment also enables developers to access lower fees and faster transactions provided by the EOS network.

Meanwhile, as Ethereum anticipates greater adoption following the recent Shapella upgrade, more projects prioritise EVM compatibilities within their networks, such as Astar Network, which launched smart contracts supporting two virtual machines, including EVM and the WebAssembly Virtual Machine.

Polygon’s zkEVM, a zero-knowledge rollup scaling solution, also launched its beta version on March 27, mimicking the transaction execution environment of the Ethereum mainnet and enabling DApps to scale with higher performance, according to Polygon.
