American billionaire investor and CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, has made an exciting disclosure about “DOGE” to his nearly 129.4 million followers on Twitter. In a tweet today, Musk confessed that he was the person who “let the Doge out.”

The famous American billionaire attached an image with the inscription: “It was me. I let the dogs out.”

The tweet is one of Musk’s regular jokes on the popular microblogging platform. Musk jokingly referenced the popular Pop music titled “Who Let the Dogs Out.” The song was released in 2000 by Bahamian junkanoo band Baha Men and won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording the following year.

Interestingly, Musk decided to bring the song back to the timeline of crypto community members by claiming he was the person who set the “doge” free. However, he added a twist by replacing “dog” with “doge.”

Musk’s Contribution to Dogecoin’s Growth

Musk has been a huge proponent of Dogecoin over the past two years. Musk contributed to Dogecoin’s massive rally in 2021 that peaked at an all-time high (ATH) of $0.73. He made this possible by writing about the cryptocurrency on his official Twitter handle, describing the crypto asset as the “people’s cryptocurrency.”

Musk does not only write nice things about Dogecoin on Twitter but also goes a step further to accept the cryptocurrency as a payment method across his businesses, including Tesla and SpaceX.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic in January 2022, Musk announced that Dogecoin holders could purchase electronic vehicles from Tesla using the crypto asset. During the peak of the crypto winter, Musk gave Dogecoin a fighting chance following his acquisition of the popular social media platform Twitter.
