Shiba Inu community members still want Kusama to continue as SHIB’s lead developer.

Shiba Inu community members have thrown their weight behind SHIB lead developer Shytoshi Kusama following the dispute that ensued over the weekend between him and Shiba Inu’s Discord core staff, ShibaKraken.

Members of the Shiba Inu community declared their support for Kusama through a Twitter poll launched by Lucie, a popular SHIB enthusiast. The rationale behind the poll was to find out if SHIB community members still want Kusama to continue as the lead developer of Shiba Inu.

After a total vote of 2,471, 92% of participants threw their weight behind Kusama, urging him to continue as Shiba Inu’s lead developer. However, 8% of the respondents do not want Kusama as the cryptocurrency’s lead developer.

Lucie and Kusama React

Commenting on the results of the poll, Lucie said the sentiment of Shiba Inu community members toward Kusama remains the same. Lucie noted that the 8% of respondents who opposed Kusama’s continuous role as SHIB lead developer are “probably Discord gang,” referring to supporters of ShibaKraken.

Community sentiment about @ShytoshiKusama doesn’t change.
Poll saw 15 400 people!

8% don’t – probably discord gang

Interestingly, Kusama also took out time to comment on the recent poll created by Lucie. In a tweet yesterday, Kusama said:

“Thanks, Lucieshib… nice poll. I’m sure [my retweet] will just fan the flames. Going from Char to Parched is fine…”

Dispute Between Kusama and ShibaKraken

As reported by The Crypto Basic the Shiba Inu ecosystem suffered an internal rift over the weekend following the launch of Shibarium’s Telegram group, dubbed All Things Shibarium Shy/Official. The group created by Kusama will serve as a medium where updates about Shibarium will be shared with SHIB community members.

A few hours after Kusama shared details about the group on Twitter, ShibaKraken accused the Shiba Inu lead developer of attempting a hostile takeover of the Shiba Inu community. ShibaKraken further alleged that Kusama removed “many core members” of the SHIB project from the group. He added that he will not be joining the group created by Kusama.

Attention #ShibArmy. It has come to my attention that @ShytoshiKusama has just attempted a hostile takeover of the SHIB community. Many core members have now been removed from the "new group". I'm not sure what comes next, but I will not be joining Shytoshis new group.

Reacting to ShibaKraken’s public outburst, Kusama asked the Shiba Inu’s core Discord staff to stay away from the group as he did not want to have any issues on the platform. He further threw a jibe at the cryptocurrency’s core Discord staff for sharing a name with the new coronavirus variant, dubbed Kraken.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu community members frowned at the dispute between Kusama and ShibaKraken. Many believe the duo could have settled the issue internally instead of bringing internal rifts to the public.

Notably, “the show of shame” as many described it, could wreak havoc on Shiba Inu’s reputation, which could impede the cryptocurrency’s widespread adoption.

What's your goal? #shibarium is coming out and is this tweet of yours very friendly? Be respectful to our chief developer! Domestic disputes stay in the household, as soon as they move out, it harms us.
