Flare (FLR) is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to give decentralized applications secure access to data from other blockchains and the wider internet, thereby supporting cross-chain interoperability. Rather than functioning simply as a bridge, Flare provides native data protocols intended to make external data usable within smart contracts. The network uses a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.
