Litecoin Creator Charlie Lee Blasts Twitter over Ten Days Lockout
Renowned cryptocurrency investor and the Managing Director of Litecoin Foundation, Charlie Lee, after been locked out of his personal Twitter account for ten days have regained access, however, the Litecoin Boss in his tweet declared that he had to contact an insider at Twitter before his account got reactivated.
Lee in the early hours of Monday 27th July 2020 tweeted to inform his 819.5K followers that he is back on the leading social media platform, Twitter, after ten days of unproductive effort with the Twitter management team.
In his tweet, Lee said he had no choice than to contact a friend, who has direct contact with the Twitter management team. He pointed out that the public had expected that Twitter would rise to restore affected accounts that were attacked in the recent unceremonious Twitter hack that saw accounts belonging to important personalities in the Crypto Industry and beyond.
Recall that NewsLogical earlier reported that over $100,000 worth of BTC was lost within few hours July 15th during the Twitter hack. Also, the Twitter Management team reported that no fewer than 130 accounts of important individuals were affected.
The Twitter hack had however stirred up different opinions from dignitaries in the crypto space among which include the Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, who condemned the hackers for the purposeful linking of Twitter and Cryptocurrency to defraud unsuspecting people.
Also, Software Guru and Cryptocurrency Investor, John McAfee, as reported by NewsLogical, blamed the micro-blogging platform for adopting Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) as its means of security. McAfee explained that the 2FA exposes users’ data to SIM swap hack.
The Software Guru in his argument pointed to the fact that the Twitter Founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey, has in the past been a victim of the SIM swap hack, which denied him access to his account for 20 minutes.
However, there has also been series of complaint against top video-oriented platform YouTube for its laxity towards scammers who promote fake campaign by impersonating important personalities around the world.
