Report: Citigroup soon to Hire 100 People for Its Crypto Division

The world's largest financial services and bank Citigroup is looking to hire 100 people for its afresh crypto division. The conglomerate says, "Potentiality of blockchain and digital assets are our new belief. Digital assets include ease, efficiency, quick processing, divisions, programmability, and transparency."

Citigroup expanding Its crypto division

Bloomberg reports, "Citigroup is reportedly searching for eligible people figuring to 100. These hiring will be done to grow its digital asset team within its institutional business."

Bloomberg News highlights, "Puneet Singhvi will be hired as the leader of digital assets' firm within Citi's institutional client group." Singhvi has already been the chief of blockchain and digital assets within Citi's trading business.

As the new leader, he has to report to Emily Turner. Emily is shouldered with the responsibility of overseeing business development for the wider group. Turner in a conversation with memo staff, "we possess a strong belief in the ability of blockchain and digital assets because it renders efficiency and transparency."

Turner illustrated, "Punnet Singhvi and its team will concentrate on winning with essential internal and external stakeholders counting in, startups, and regulators." They shall be bestowing skills & strategies on the usage of blockchain and digital assets by Citi businesses. This will include trading, securities services, investment banking, and treasury and trade solutions.

Prime focus on digital asset space

Citigroup emailed a statement stating, "We have our prime focus on obtaining the needs of our clients in the digital asset space." The email also claimed, "Before handing out any products and services, we examine the markets. We even adapt the regulatory landscape and corresponding risks. These all are done to meet our regulatory frameworks and supervisory expectations."

Furthermore, Shobhit Maini and Vasant Viswanathan will work as co-heads of blockchain and digital assets for Citigroup's global markets business. The two will be working under Biswarup Chatterjee - chief of business innovation.
