Forbes has enabled an Ethereum-powered ads-free user experience on every section of its platform today, meaning visitors can unlock an ads-free experience on Forbes with a little amount of Ethereum.

While the initiative is expected to drive the adoption of cryptocurrency, the idea is powered by Unlock.

As more people continue to use ad-blockers, creators look for ways to increase their revenue stream, hence the reason Forbes opted for Unlock protocol.

Forbes, which writes lots of articles about blockchain technology and everything about cryptocurrency offers users the advantage to unlock an ad-free experience on their site, courtesy of Unlock.

According to Unlock, Forbes deployed two locks. The first one gives users a month-long ad-free experience on their platform, while the second makes it easy for users to visit their ad-free platform for a week.

Users wanting to purchase a key requires cryptocurrency wallets like Coinbase, MetaMask and Opera. Once this is available, users can move to the cryptocurrency section of forbes.com and click the “Unlock and ads free experience” button, Unlock has said in an update.

This will make an Unlock-powered prompt to open, allowing users to send a transaction to purchase a key.

The ads disappear even if the transaction has not been mined. However, the ads will continue to disappear for the duration of the key a user purchased. And ads won’t show on every section of Forbes.com site.

However, the moment the transaction is mined, users will receive a non-fungible token as an indication of their membership. This NFT can be stored on OpenSea. At the moment, Unlock is offering up to 100 membership to Forbes ads-free lock.

Cryptocurrency is gaining widespread adoption recently. Businesses are beginning to adopt the nascent technology for fund transfer and for other dealing due to its speed.
