Hashpalette will offer cross-chain support for the creation and management of NFTs, and Neo is among the first blockchains included in their plans. Hashpalette is a Japanese-based NFT platform centered around digital content such as manga, animation, sports, and music. It is powered by the Palette blockchain, responsible for issuing, managing, and distributing NFTs. Palette’s key feature is its implementation of cross-chain technology.
The Palette TestNet launched in early March 2021 supporting Neo, Ethereum, and Ontology, with plans to expand to other networks.
The partnership is part of Neo’s effort to expand services and offerings into the Japanese NFT market. Neo Global Development ecosystem growth director, John Wang, said:
We are very pleased that Palette invited us to expand the NFT market in Japan. As a leading blockchain company, we believe Palette will make impressive progress in Japan in the future. In order to realize our vision of a smart economy, Neo is always actively searching for partners that can expand the global ecosystem. Neo is excited to work with Palette in building the NFT ecosystem in Japan. We look forward to providing better blockchain applications for Japanese users and companies.
Hashpalette is a joint venture between the public Japanese firm, Link-U, and blockchain specialists, HashPort. Its IEO was the first ever to occur in Japan.
The Neo Foundation is also a member of the Palette Consortium, a group of entities that will operate Palette blockchain consensus nodes. Other Palette Consortium members include the Ontology Foundation, OKCoin, Huobi, ICON Foundation, and more.
