This week sees an unusual project taking top spot for the first time ever. Bitcoin was dethroned this week by NEO, but managed to claim second, third and fourth place while Ripple claimed fifth place in a week that saw the top 5 account for just under $500m in whale moves.
Top spot this week went to NEO, which a massive $326 million transfer, account for over half of this week's total whale moves. Bitcoin remained on the list which comes as no surprise, and XRP also featured following a few weeks of absence.
Top spot NEO saw 29,461,168 NEO transferred out from the NEO Dev account, totalling $326,156,929 USD before being transferred back into the Dev account. NEO announced that that transaction was simply to differentiate the transactions for the community's reference, following the transfer of 5.5m NEO to the unlocked Dev wallet.
The NEO transaction is one of the largest seen this year, with only several XRP transactions managing more. The XRP transaction was also an internal transaction, most likely being prepared for an over-the-counter (OTC) sale.

This weeks top 5 saw a total of $496.93m transferred for a total fee of $135.54, mostly due to one transaction making up for 96.6% of that total. NEO and XRP transactions were essentially free.
