Cryptopia, the New Zealand-based cryptocurrency exchange perhaps most famous for being hacked earlier this year is back in the spotlight. Reddit user Fallenkeith2018 has noticed the exchange’s website has been down for over eight hours, sparking fears of another hack.

As per the post:

“I woke up this morning to check Cryptopia to see if there was any updates on the website about new trading pairs. When I went to Cryptopia mainsite, it says: "Don't Panic! We are currently in maintenance. Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience."

Considering the exchange has posted no updates on their official Twitter account since April 26 and there is no news on their Discord channel, many are fearing the worst, with some speculating the exchange may have been hacked again.

Don't panic while we empty the exchange and run.......biggest joke exchange in crypto history! 😤I have completely lost faith now. If they don't come back now, it really wouldn't surprise me! #jokers #craptopia #cryptopia pic.twitter.com/EeOvC82UnH

Furthermore, some Twitter users complained on May 13 that BTC withdrawals had been stuck for at least two hours with no updates from the exchange.

@Cryptopia_NZ BTC withdrawal is stuck since 2 hours, what is going on? 🙁 #Cryptopia
