Bitcoin’s retail activity on Binance has fallen to its lowest level in years, even as $BTC continues to trade at a much higher valuation than previous market cycles. CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost reports that small-investor inflows have dropped to just 281 $BTC.
This raises questions about why small investors are no longer showing the same level of activity.
Binance Retail Deposits Fall Nearly 90%
According to analyst Darkfost, Binance’s 30-day average of retail inflows has fallen to just 281 $BTC. The metric tracks deposits of less than 1 $BTC and shows how much smaller investors are moving onto the exchange.
During the 2019–2021 bull cycle, average retail inflows reached around 2,700 $BTC, nearly 10 times the current level. At the time, Bitcoin was trading near $15,700. Activity also picked up in early 2023 after the FTX collapse, when panic pushed average inflows to about 1,900 $BTC.
