Having achieved a major victory in its legal battle with the SEC, Ripple ($XRP) continues to achieve new victories.
At this point, Ripple USD ($RLUSD), a stablecoin launched by Ripple, reached a significant milestone by surpassing the $1 billion market capitalization less than a year after its launch.
According to the data, Ripple USD, which was officially launched in December 2024, has achieved a remarkable growth of 1,278% in its market capitalization since the beginning of the year.
Ripple stated in a post on X on Monday that $RLUSD reached a market capitalization of one billion dollars in one year, is backed 1:1 with the US dollar, and is the most reliable and transparent stablecoin for institutions.
“With Ripple Prime, GTreasury, and Rail joining this effort, $RLUSD and $XRP will foster faster, more efficient, and compliant payments around the world. This is how we advance the future of finance.”
While a $1 billion market capitalization is a major achievement for $RLUSD, it lags far behind stablecoin giants like Tether (USDT), which has a market capitalization of $183 billion, and Circle (USDC), which has a market capitalization of $75 billion.
