CEO of IOHK Charles Hoskinson has cleaned Ethereum Foundation and its developers of the dent place on them, that the blockchain network copied Cardano’s robust architecture.

Hoskinson debunked the claim, saying the statement has no evidence to back it.

The accusation that Ethereum Foundation copied some codes and architectural underlining of Cardano blockchain has been spreading in the blockchain industry for some days now, however, several observers have claimed Ethereum did copy the code have not brought forward any tangible fact to substantiate the allegation.

Charles Hoskinson, whom many have been expecting to clear the air, said the controversial Ethereum 2.0, which the founder of Cardano earlier tagged an unnecessary idea capable of introducing two Ethereum tokens into the space, is not in any way a resemblance of what Cardano developing.

The CEO said ETH 2.0 roadmap has no semblance with Cardano’s roadmap and technology, saying the two projects do not have anything in common as seen in their roadmap and architecture.

Charles Hoskinson said: “I’m seeing some articles floating around about Ethereum 2 copying Cardano. There is no evidence that the EF or the ETH2 roadmap is in any way connected to Cardano’s roadmap and technology. Looks like we are on completely divergent paths and that’s a good thing for us all.”

Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin’s Earlier Response to the Copycat Allegation

Vitalik Buterin had earlier responded to the spreading claim that Ethereum copied some roadmap and technology from Cardano.

The allegation was made widespread by a popular Reddit user under the pseudonym, Tradefeedz. The cryptocurrency observer made his experience with Ethereum (ETH) 2.0 transaction validation known to his followers.

He said he checked the Sapphire testnet with the help of Prysm using the Brave blockchain browser.

After testing it, the blockchain enthusiast uploaded a screenshot, alleging that the architecture of Ethereum 2.0 is no different from that of Cardano.

Tradefeedz laid emphasized that the ‘Eth2.0 testnet is making use Cardano slot and epoch architecture.

The Ethereum 2.0 critic was adamant that the Ethereum Foundation copy-lifted the architecture of Cardano, its design and other things linked to the scientific project.

While the conversation was moved to the subreddit of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin gave his response, resharing a comment about the alleged plagiarism of Tesla cars.

To Vitalik, the ‘slots and epochs’ architecture for Proof-of-Stake consensus is no different from the four wheels for cars.

Vitalik said: “The actual answer is that describing time in terms of slots is something that almost every PoS blockchain has done in some form, and as soon as you have a consensus-layer process that occurs repeatedly and takes N > 1 slots per round, you might as well call it an epoch. So a PoS chain having epochs/slots really is about on the same level as a car having four wheels in terms of uniqueness”
