Factom Protocol, an enterprise-grade platform for efficiently building blockchain solutions, has announced that HealthNet, a population health data-sharing platform, will launch this spring on the Factom blockchain. Developed by Consensus Networks, an Authority Node Operator (ANO) on the Factom network, HealthNet is a secure data-sharing platform that aims to improve health outcomes for patients and healthcare workers alike.

“Consensus Networks’ decision to utilize the Factom Protocol is yet another testament to the Factom Protocol as a prime foundation for the building of a blockchain ecosystem. Amongst the use cases now building on the Factom Protocol are solutions in areas including security, energy, healthcare, and identity management.”
– Greg Forst, Director of Marketing at Factom Protocol

HealthNet was developed internally at Consensus Networks through SBIR Phase I funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with the Phase II funding renewal process already ongoing.

The launch of Consensus Networks’ HealthNet platform on the Factom Protocol is accompanied by news that Consensus Networks has been awarded a $50,000 USD grant from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The U.S. Air Force Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract, which has been distributed through AFWERX and the Air Force Research Lab, will be used to explore the use of blockchain and cryptographic solutions to secure software chains of custody within the U.S. Air Force. The grant will also be used to enhance the DoD’s DevSecOps capabilities and augment their cyber-security efforts.
