According to Token Unlocks, 372 mln SAND tokens are due to be unlocked on August 14th. These are crypto assets belonging to The Sandbox project, on which restrictions were imposed upon release. This number of tokens is 18.1% of the total supply, of which 71 mln SAND will be sent to the project team, the organization's fund will receive 37 mln tokens, and the rest of the tokens will be distributed among the project consultants.
Previous unlocks of SAND tokens had a negative impact on the price of the token. However, over the past 24 hours, the price of the crypto asset has not changed much, having fallen by 0.2% over the day. It is expected that in the near future the price will be in the range from $0.39 to $0.41.
60 mln SAND tokens were transferred from the Sandbox Genesis multisig smart contract a week ago, according to blockchain explorer Etherscan, which is a sign that the unlock has already begun. Sandbox's Discord ambassador, under the pseudonym Uncle Grumpy, said it was an attempt to "not shock" the system.
